German Kraft was born out of the desire to revive the ceremony that traditionally surrounds beer drinking in Franconia; to create a locally brewed beer, full of character and drink it fresh from the tank. Our beers are brewed in accordance with Germany’s 500 year old ‘Purity Law’, using only water, malt, hops & yeast. Unfiltered, unpasteurized, without finings & additives.
We serve our beer fresh from the tank on site where it is brewed. It doesn't get fresher than that. Unfiltered, unpasteurised and without additives. We cut our CO2 usage by 75% by not using cans, bottles or any other one-way packaging and transporting the liquid around the country. Our beers are lagered for at least 4 weeks so achieve the smoothness and balance we love in beer.
Want to become an expert in German Brewing Tradition? You'll learn everything about our story, the brewing processes, ingredients we use and what we do differently to other breweries, and a brewery tour just wouldn't be right without a beer tasting. We run regular brewery tours at our South London Brewery in Elephant and Castle.
The right glass for the right beer is more important than you think!

Using animals as a source of power to make your life easier was since the middle ages a very common thing to do. One of those animals was the over 1,000 kg dray horse which can pull four times its own weight and was perfect to help out in and around breweries.
